So what is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology (Kin-easy-ology) is one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in the UK. It is used by many Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and Dentists across the globe. It is very popular in the USA, Canada and Australia.
Pioneered in the USA by Chiropractors in 1964, Systematic Kinesiology uses a wonderful combination of lymphatic massage and nutritional advice, as well as emotional and energy work.
A Systematic Kinesiologist, such as Lucy, treats the body and person as a whole, not just the symptoms, and this is why Kinesiology is so fantastic at getting to the root cause of a health problem, pain or injury.
What makes Kinesiology so amazing?
Imagine your body is a car and the warning light is flashing on the dashboard. The warning light is your symptoms or health problem. So many of us do something to get rid of the symptoms, like using a cream or taking a painkiller or medication, but that is just like taking a hammer to the warning light.
Sure it’s stopped flashing or the symptoms have gone away, but why was the light on in the first place? Why are your symptoms there? What is your body asking you to look at?
Kinesiology takes a thorough look under the bonnet at the engine. By establishing what piece of the engine isn’t working, the warning light doesn’t have to flash in the first place. Your symptoms no longer need to appear!
Why should I consider Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is suitable for all ages and many people turn to it when they feel unwell or in pain and decide that a natural approach to their health may suit their needs. It is designed to provide you with a long term fix for your issues.
Kinesiology provides a picture of what is going on inside a person’s body, which makes it much easier to understand why it is that someone feels poorly and what it is that their body needs to help them feel better. It is entirely bespoke for every client that we see as everyone is so unique.
If you would like to consider looking at your health or injuries in a natural way, please do get in touch to find out more about how we may be able to help you get to the bottom of your health concerns.

frequently asked questions
What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a holistic, root-cause therapy that works with the body’s natural feedback systems to identify and address imbalances affecting health and wellbeing.
Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, kinesiology looks at the whole person — including physical health, nutrition, emotional wellbeing, stress levels and energetic balance — to support the body’s ability to heal and regulate itself.
How does Kinesiology work?
Kinesiology works by using muscle testing as a gentle, non-invasive way of accessing information from the body.
Your body is constantly responding to stress — physical, emotional, nutritional or environmental. Muscle testing allows us to identify where these stresses are being held and what the body needs in order to restore balance.
Sessions include lymphatic massage, nutritional support, stress release techniques, lifestyle guidance and energetic corrections, all tailored specifically to you.
What is muscle testing?
Muscle testing involves applying very light pressure to different parts of the body, in particular ways – this may involve your arm, your leg or neck for instance. Each muscle test represents a system in the body do by testing these muscles we can read your immune system, your digestive system, your adrenals, your reproductive hormones, your kidneys and much more.
It’s not a test of strength. Instead, it provides feedback from the body helping to identify imbalances so that we can establish what is at the root cause of your health condition.
This method is widely used within kinesiology to guide sessions in a precise, individualised way.
Is Kinesiology a scientific or complementary therapy?
Kinesiology is considered a complementary therapy.
It integrates principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine (such as meridians and energy pathways) with elements of Western anatomy, chiropractic, physiology and neurology.
Many people choose kinesiology alongside conventional medical care, particularly when they want a more holistic, root-cause-focused approach to long-standing health concerns.
What Can Kinesiology Help With?
Clients commonly come to see me for support with:
Digestive issues including IBS, bloating, reflux and food intolerances.
Stress, anxiety and emotional overwhelm.
Hormonal imbalances including PMS, peri-menopause and thyroid.
Low energy, chronic fatigue and burnout.
Migraines and headaches.
Skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
Sleep issues and nervous system dysregulation.
Can Kinesiology help with IBS, bloating or digestive issues?
Yes — digestive issues are one of the most common reasons people seek kinesiology.
Kinesiology can help identify underlying contributors to symptoms such as IBS, bloating, reflux, constipation or food sensitivities. This may include stress patterns, nervous system dysregulation, nutritional imbalances or missing key nutrients that the gut needs to help it to heal itself.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol, sessions are guided by what your body needs.
Can Kinesiology help with stress, anxiety or emotional issues?
Absolutely. Kinesiology is particularly effective for stress-related and emotional concerns.
Many physical symptoms are influenced by unresolved stress, emotional overload or past experiences held in the body. Kinesiology helps gently release these patterns and support the nervous system to move into a calmer, more regulated state.
Clients often report feeling lighter, calmer and more emotionally resilient.
Is Kinesiology helpful for hormonal imbalances?
Yes. Kinesiology is commonly used to support hormonal balance, including issues related to PMS, perimenopause, menopause, thyroid health and adrenal stress.
By addressing stress, nutrition, emotional load and lymphatic flow and energy balance, kinesiology helps support the systems that regulate hormones rather than targeting hormones in isolation. This means you are giving the body the tools it needs to resolve problems for itself.
Can Kinesiology help with fatigue or low energy?
Yes — low energy and chronic fatigue are very common reasons people book sessions.
Fatigue is often multi-layered, and can involve stress, digestion, nutrient absorption, hormonal balance and nervous system overload. Kinesiology helps identify where energy is being drained and what the body needs to restore balance and vitality.
Can Kinesiology help with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis?
Kinesiology can be helpful in supporting skin health by addressing internal stressors that may be contributing to flare-ups, such as digestive imbalance, immune stress, emotional load or inflammation.
Kinesiology has a specific way of understanding what is at the root cause of a skin problem eg is it coming from the gut or the immune system etc. and when armed with this knowledge we can then work to boost that system and give the body the tools it needs to begin to heal itself.
Is Kinesiology safe for children or babies?
Yes. Kinesiology is gentle and non-invasive, making it suitable for children and babies.
Sessions are always adapted to the child’s age and needs, and muscle testing can be done directly or via a parent if appropriate. Kinesiology is commonly used to support skin problems such as childhood eczema, digestive complaints, emotional regulation, sleep and developmental stress in children.
How many Kinesiology sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your individual health picture and goals.
Some people notice changes after just one or two sessions, while others benefit from an initial series of 3–5 sessions, followed by occasional maintenance or check-ins.
We’ll always work at a pace that feels right for you.
How long does a Kinesiology session last?
All of Lucy’s sessions last 90 minutes, although child follow up appointments are usually shorter at 60 minutes.
What should I wear to a Kinesiology session?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. There’s no need to wear gym wear — just avoid very tight or restrictive clothing like skinny jeans.
Will I need to undress?
No. You remain fully clothed throughout a kinesiology session.
Will I need to take supplements forever?
No. Any supplements recommended through kinesiology are typically short-term support, designed to correct imbalances rather than create dependency.
The aim is always to support your body back into balance so it can function well on its own.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Lucy wants her clients to get better and feel awesome.
Lucy is amazing, When i went to see her about 6 months ago i was suffering massively with keeping my blood sugar levels low. I have diabetes and wanted a more natural way to look after my sugar levels. She worked with me for 10 days to get my sugars under control and now works with me to make sure they do not go back up. Amazing work and wouldn’t hesitate to pass her on to any one else.

My daughter had a milk allergy from a baby but even though she grew out of this, she continued to have issues with her tummy, she was in pain and despite visiting the doctor numerous times and having tests for a milk allergy nothing ever flagged on her results. She continued with this pain for years. After the first treatment… I could not believe the difference in my daughter after following this advice her tummy pains were gone and her mood changed a lot she was so much more happier. This treatment is amazing.

My son has had digestion problems and issues with constipation since birth making him very unhappy. After just one session the change in his behaviour and mood was unbelievable, he was like a different little boy. We’ve had a handful of sessions with Lucy now, and I think we’re at a point where I can say he no longer has any issues in this area. He’s even potty trained, something I didn’t think we would achieve so soon. Huge thanks to Lucy.
